About the cottage Philomena
Nothing has been forgotten in the renovation of this traditional 4-star chalet for 12 in La Giettaz, a peaceful smaller resort between Megève and La Clusaz. This magnificent chalet dated 1828 reinterprets the codes of traditional Savoyard architecture and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and forest. Everything has been thought out to offer you the most pleasant stay, with family or friends, in the middle of nature. You will immediately be charmed by the large living room, the warm decoration and the many amenities and, depending on the season of your stay, by the sight of deer and hinds grazing around the chalet. The chalet has six bedrooms on the ground floor, 3 of which are en-suite. On the upper floor, you will enjoy a living space of more than 110 m2 including a main living room, a TV lounge, a reading area, a fireplace area, an open kitchen, a dining area and a laundry room. You will also find lots of fun equipment that will delight young and old alike : video games (PS4, Wii), many DVDs and board games. Chalet Philomena is supplied with water from natural springs. As water is a precious resource affected by climate change, the choice was made not to equip the chalet with water-hungry nordic bath or jacuzzi but with an outdoor barrel sauna that will enhance your stay by bringing you a touch of well-being and relaxation. This prestigious chalet is ideally located a few minutes from the center of the village of La Giettaz. The chalet is located opposite a ski slope in the Portes du Mont Blanc area and only 5 minutes from the Plan de La Giettaz ski lifts. You will be 20 minutes from La Clusaz and 25 minutes from Megève by car.

Location
La Giettaz en Aravis
La Giettaz (pronounced "La Giette" by the locals) is a typical Savoyard village nestled on the edge of the Col des Aravis, on the border between Savoie and Haute-Savoie. This secret setting, voted the most beautiful village in Savoie in May 2023, is a link between the Aravis and the Val d'Arly of which it is a part. Its neighboring villages are La Clusaz on the other side of the pass (20 mins by car) and Praz-sur-Arly and Megève (respectively 20 mins and 25 mins by car). Chalet Philomena is perfectly placed since it is located in Plan de La Giettaz, the hamlet of the village which is home to the ski resort and the departure of the ski lifts (see map below). La Giettaz is part of the Portes du Mont Blanc ski area and its 100 km of slopes which connect the resorts of Megève-Jaillet, Combloux and La Giettaz. The proximity to the resorts of La Clusaz or Notre Dame de Bellecombe or Les Saisies will also allow you to vary the pleasures winter and summer because when the snow melts, it gives way to a fabulous playground for cyclists and hikers!
Activities
In winter, you will enjoy a wonderful ski chalet nestled between the Petit and Grand Croisse Baulet and Torraz mounts , located in the ski area of Les Portes du Mont Blanc on the edge of the track. You will be able to admire the skiers evolving on the large blue run which snakes in front of the chalet. During the other seasons, the snow gives way to outdoor activities. In spring or summer, you enjoy hiking or cycling trails that start directly at the foot of the property, no need to take the car. In autumn, the rutting roar of the deers and the shimmering colors of Indian summer will be the unmissable rendezvous for nature lovers!
